The questions our guests ask us most often, and our answers. If yours is not here, write to us or call us, we reply quickly.
Arrival and departure
What time can we arrive?
We welcome our guests between 5.00 pm and 10.30 pm. If your travel arrangements require a different time, ask us in advance: we adapt whenever we can.
What time must we leave?
Departure is at 11.00 am at the latest. This means leaving the property, not just the bedroom: the pool, the terraces and the shared areas are no longer available after that time.
What happens if we arrive late?
Let us know. If we have no news from you at the agreed time, the booking lapses and we are free to let the room.
Breakfast, meals and drinks
Is breakfast included?
In the four bedrooms, yes. The P'tit Déj Douceur is included in the nightly rate: a hot drink, a fruit juice, slices of country bread or brioche, butter and a selection of artisan jams. It is brought to you on a tray, in your kitchen area, and you take it at your own pace, in the kitchen or on one of our terraces.
In the three apartments, no. They have a fully equipped kitchen, and the Grand Brunch Gourmand is offered there as an option.
Can we have a proper brunch?
Yes, the Grand Brunch Gourmand is served at the table, at €15 per person per day, to be booked in advance. In the bedrooms it replaces the included breakfast; in the apartments it is an addition.
Can we have dinner on site?
On prior request, by email or telephone, and subject to availability. We agree the price together, according to what you would like.
The aperitif board is €25 per person, including a glass of chardonnay. It is a meal in itself: do not plan a dinner afterwards. Book it in advance, as we buy nothing but fresh local produce.
Can we cook?
Yes. A new, fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, with sugar, salt, pepper and oil provided. A large Weber gas barbecue is also available. Any other food is yours to bring or to buy in the shops nearby.
Is there wine on site?
A list of wines from our neighbouring winegrowers, along with cocktails, speciality beers and alcohol-free creations. You can also buy bottles of Burgundy to take away, from €14.
Can we eat in the bedroom?
No, no meal may be taken in the bedrooms.
Pets
Do you accept pets?
Yes, on prior request, with a supplement of €5 per animal per night. The request may be declined if there are already too many dogs on the property, or if your pet does not tolerate others. Assistance dogs are welcomed free of charge.
What are the rules for pets?
They must be sociable, clean and obedient. They do not sleep on the beds, sofas or sun loungers, they do not enter the pool, and they stay on a lead during shared moments such as breakfast. Bags are available in the kitchens for their waste. You do not leave your pet alone on the property, bedrooms and grounds included, without our agreement.
Pool and shared spaces
When is the pool open?
From 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm, April to October. There is no lifeguard: swimming is at your own risk, and no child swims without one of their parents. Night swimming remains exceptional and requires our permission.
Which spaces are ours?
The whole grounds are open to you, as well as a covered terrace and a garden. We gladly share our living spaces, the large pergola included. What is shared then depends on what you have booked.
- In a bedroom: the kitchen, the sitting rooms, the terrace and the pool are shared with the other guests. Please tidy and clean after use.
- In an apartment: your kitchen is yours alone, each apartment has its own. Only the outdoor areas, the terrace and the pool remain shared.
- The whole guest house, that is four bedrooms or more: the house and its small garden are reserved for you, and you have priority over the shared areas. You then share only the outdoor areas, and only with Jean and Nathalie.
Can we invite friends?
In a bedroom or an apartment, no: the pool and the shared areas are reserved for our guests.
When you book the whole house, it is possible on request, for a limited number of people and a limited time. Your visitors cannot stay overnight.
What the rate includes
Is there wifi?
Yes, fibre. You scan a QR code or enter the password on arrival. The connection lets you work online without difficulty.
Is parking included?
Yes, private parking inside the property, with one space per bedroom, included for the whole stay. It takes large vehicles, motorhomes, caravans, vans and trailers.
Are linen and cleaning provided?
The beds are made on your arrival with temperature-regulating linen. Bath towels and dedicated pool towels are provided, along with toilet paper, shampoo and soap. Cleaning at the start and end of your stay is included, and you do not have to strip the beds.
Do you have what we need for a baby?
Yes. We provide a travel cot and fitted sheets, a high chair and a baby bath. All of it is to be requested in advance, and please tell us when you book that a child is coming.
Is there coffee and tea?
A kettle, a coffee maker, tea, herbal teas and coffee pods are in your kitchen, together with a bottle of mineral water and a fruit juice in the fridge on your arrival. It is a welcome basket: it is not replenished during your stay.
Extra services
Can we do our laundry?
A washing machine and a tumble dryer are available, free of charge from 4 nights. Below that, allow €10 for a wash and €10 for a dry. If you leave the ironing to us, €20 per load.
Can you organise our stay?
Our advice is free. Full organisation, including bookings made in your name, is €130 for a stay of one or two weeks. We are happy to book a restaurant table, a wine tour or a tasting with one of the seventeen winegrowers of Chardonnay and the surrounding area. Once the request is made, please honour the bookings: our partners are counting on us.
Do you offer an extra bed?
Yes, a proper single bed, 90 by 190, for €40 per night.
Coming without a car
Can we come by train?
Yes. We run a shuttle from Tournus station, on prior request by email or telephone and subject to availability, at €20 for the return trip.
Can we hire bicycles?
Yes, through one of our partners, who delivers on site. Book in advance: it cannot be arranged from one day to the next.
Is there an electric charging point?
Yes, a charging point is available on site.
Booking, payment, cancellation
How do we pay for the stay?
Payment in instalments is possible, but the stay must be paid in full before arrival. Any balance is settled on arrival, and drinks or extra services at the end of the stay if they have not been paid online.
Is there a tourist tax?
Yes, €0.70 per adult per night, payable on site. We pass it on to the public treasury.
What are the cancellation terms?
More than 30 days before the stay, full refund, less PayPal transfer fees. At 15 days, half is refunded, less the same fees. Under 15 days, no refund. If a stay is cut short, the cost of the accommodation remains due, except in a justified case of force majeure.
And if you cancel?
We tell you by the fastest means available and look for accommodation nearby with a fellow host. If the solution does not suit you, you are refunded immediately, with no need to justify yourself.
House rules
Can we smoke?
No, the whole house is non-smoking.
Can the number of people change?
The contract is made for a precise number of people. Any change must be requested in advance. Without a request, we reserve the right to cancel the booking, and additional people may be turned away without refund.
What should we do if something breaks?
Tell us, rather than waiting for us to find out. Our relationship with our guests rests on trust, and it has worked very well so far.
The full detail is in our house rules and in our terms and conditions of sale.
